As part of our Discovery unit ‘What Lies Beyond,’ the Year 2 children will explore Discovery Bay and use their Geography skills to visit multiple checkpoints in our local community.Â
The trip will take place on Monday 27th May and will be a walking trip around Discovery Bay. To ensure a safe and well-supervised trip, children will be divided into groups of six, with two adult volunteers per group. We will need eight volunteers per class – thank you! We will do our best to place your child in your group, where possible.Â
A briefing will be conducted on Monday 27th May at 8.20am in Kakapo Class. We require that each volunteer attends the briefing, as it will contain important safety information for the day and an opportunity to ask questions.Â
On the day, children will plan to travel by bus once on their route. Please ensure all children come to school with an Octopus card on Monday 27th May with the value of at least HK$20. Children will also have the opportunity to cool down with a cold snack in the plaza! They will be required to use their money-counting skills to select and pay for an ice lolly at 7-11, so please ensure your child has HK$30 in their bag in small denominations (any coin or note varieties welcome!).Â

| Route: | 8.45am Depart from Discovery Bay. The children will visit the following checkpoints, where they will be registered by a staff member and given a stamp.Â
Checkpoint 1: Seabee Park Checkpoint 2: Beach Playground Checkpoint 3: Ferry Pier Checkpoint 4: DB Plaza Checkpoint 5: La Costa Checkpoint 6: Fire Station Checkpoint 7: DBIS The children will move between each checkpoint by walking or bus (depending on the plan they have created). They will each carry a booklet containing their plan and activities to complete along the way. 10.45 am  Arrive back at DBIS |
