Chinese Book Fair schedule – Tuesday 26 March

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I'm writing to inform you of an opportunity for all students and parents to attend a Chinese Book Exhibition and Sales being held at DBIS on Tuesday 26 March.

This event is organised by DBIS Chinese Department along with Sinolingua, a member of China International Publishing Group, and BLCUP(The Beijing Language and Culture University Press). Both of those are publishing companies with an excellent reputation for publishing Chinese textbooks and teaching supplements, HSK preparation books, reference books, and reading materials related to Chinese culture.

They will exhibit a variety of books that suitable for students of all different levels, from beginners to native speakers. You will have the opportunity to consult the staff and teachers directly for book recommendations for your child and get some guidance on how to help your children’s Chinese learning even without any Chinese language background.

All books will be on sale with an attractive discount for students, parents and staff.

  • How to select suitable Mandarin books for your child;

  • How to help your child start enjoy reading Mandarin books;

  • What if parents don’t read or speak in Mandarin, what solutions are out there;

  • What parents can do to help your child build a good Mandarin learning habit except getting a Mandarin tutor.
