DBIS Library – SUMMER LENDING PROGRAMME

Dear Parents

The DBIS library is pleased to provide details of its Summer Lending Programme.

To take part:

  1. Visit the library website and identify the books you wish to borrow. Children are more likely to read for pleasure if they are given agency to choose what they read so get them involved!
  2. Submit your book requests using this ONLINE REQUEST FORM.
  3. Collect your bag of books from the Primary office (you will be notified). With your permission we can send books home with your child, but please consider the weight.

Not sure which books to borrow? Click on QUICK LISTS (found in the menu bar on the library website) to find book lists… by year group, award winners, HK Golden Dragon Book shortlists, Sustainable Development Goals and more!

Please note:

  • This programme is available to families with children confirmed to be returning to DBIS for the 2022–23 school year and who do not have any outstanding loans.
  • Parents can borrow up to 10 library books per enrolled child for the duration of the summer break.
  • We won’t be lending books from the Early Years library as part of the Summer Lending Programme. Parents of Early Years students are invited to request books from the Main campus library. Books will need to be collected from the Primary office.
  • Book requests can be submitted between Monday 20th June and Monday 27th June, after which the library will be closed until school resumes in August.
  • All items borrowed under the Summer Lending Programme need to be returned to the Main campus library no later than Friday 26th August.
  • Parents/guardians accept that if any book is damaged, lost or cannot be returned for any reason, they are eligible for the replacement cost plus a $30 administrative fee per book.

Please be sure to read all the fine print found on the request form.

Feel free to contact the library should you have any questions.

Update:

Jotform (the app used for submitting requests) can be sensitive to browser versions, browser settings and occasionally internet settings over your network, e.g. firewall, antivirus, etc. If you cannot open the ONLINE REQUEST FORM, try the following:

Open Google search and in the Google search bar paste https://form.jotform.com/221518333581453

If that doesn’t work, try:

  1. Clearing the browser cache
  2. Different Browser
  3. Using a different device
  4. Trying a different network, like tethering from their mobile
  5. If 4. works then is likely to do with their firewall, antivirus settings in their network.

Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
