Early Years Parent Focus Groups 2021-22

Dear Early Years Parents,

It has been a wonderful start to the year for our children. We have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming our learners from Nursery – EY2 into their new environments and helping them to settle by creating homely and familiar spaces in which to learn. Our focus in these initial weeks is always on ensuring the children’s happiness and wellbeing which has been evident across the phase.

As you are aware, we value parents as our children’s first teacher in the Early Years. With this in mind, we are constantly looking for ways to improve, and this is where your thoughts, ideas and feedback are essential. Last year our first Early Years parent groups were introduced which were invaluable for supporting development across our phase and gaining feedback from our parents’ perspectives about the way we support our children’s learning. This group was even more pertinent given that we were having to juggle periods of learning both in and outside of school. I am very much hoping that this year, we can focus on the children’s learning, development and experiences in school for the entire year!

The parent group meets termly with meetings taking place during the school day. When we are able to invite parents into the school, we meet in person, but until then, meetings will take place online.

If you are interested in joining the Early Years Parent Consultation Group to continue to help us develop our provision going forward,  please register your interest on the Jot Form HERE. Please note, whilst we are one phase, we operate on a split site therefore the groups will be separated into Nursery and Reception parents and EY1 & 2 parents. Where appropriate, the groups will join together as one for meetings. I will contact interested parents in the coming weeks with details of our first meeting.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the positive contributions you have made to your children’s learning and development so far. It has been wonderful re-establishing relationships with our existing parents and getting to know our new families. This is such an integral part of ensuring the best opportunities for your children.

Best wishes

Hannah Cole
