End of Year Information for Primary Parents

Dear Parents

With the end of term drawing ever closer, we would like to provide you with some information regarding the final events of the year.

Primary Transition Morning
On Friday 21st June the children in Years 1 – 5 will experience a transition morning. The purpose of the morning is to meet their new class teacher, educational assistant and class mates. The children will also spend time in their new learning environment. Children who have been placed with new teachers will still go to their new classroom and will learn more about their new teacher from an existing member of staff. We know from experience that by participating in a transition morning the children will be even more confident about the start of the new year and be excited to return to school after the holidays.

Children who are leaving DBIS will have a special session with the Primary Leadership Team during the transition morning in which we will celebrate their time at DBIS and share in their excitement about their new adventures.

Class Lists
Class lists will be sent via email at the end of the school day on Friday 21 June. As communicated previously, a great deal of time, effort and thought has gone into creating the new classes. Earlier in the term, the children identified 4 friends from across their year group that they would like to be with next year and we have ensured that all children have at least one friend from their list. The class lists are final and we cannot consider any changes due to the resulting impact this will have on the children, in addition to this, all our Primary classes are full for the start of the new school year. We appreciate your support and for positioning your child's new class positively with them following the transition morning.

Last Day of Term
The last day of term is Friday 28 June. The children will come to school at the usual time of 8:25am and have break at the usual time of 10:05am. We will then have an earlier lunch at 11:30am, therefore if your child's lunch is being delivered to school, please can this be done at 11:00am on that day. The children will then line the playground to clap out our Year 6 students at approximately 1:00pm after their Graduation Ceremony and then return to class to be dismissed by class teachers at 1:30pm.

Please can Year 6 parents follow the guidance that has already been shared by the Year 6 Team due to their special assembly and Graduation on Friday.

It has been a real pleasure watching your children learn, grow and develop throughout the year. We have really enjoyed being a part of their learning journey and we look forward to welcoming them back after the summer break.

We wish all our DBIS families a wonderful Summer holiday, whether you are remaining in Hong Kong or travelling to other parts of the world. To our departing families, we wish you all the very best in your next adventures and we hope that you remember that you will always be a part of our very special school community.

Kind regards

The Primary Leadership Team
