EY1 DB Community Trip

Dear Parents and Carers,

As a part of our current Discovery unit ‘Our World, Our Community’ our EY1 children will be participating in a range of outdoor educational activities on Wednesday 6th November.

Throughout the trip, the children will participate in a beach clean up, outdoor art lesson, team building exercise and partake in a beach schools activity.

On the day of the trip, the EY1 children are to be dropped at the beach playground (near the toilet block) in their PE uniform at 8.30am. Please make sure your child brings the following in a small school bag;

  • a packed snack and lunch
  • water
  • school hat

Please note: Children are not required to bring their reading or library folders to school on this day.

After registration with your child’s class teacher the year group will move into a rotation of four activities; Beach Schools, Team Building, Art and a Beach Clean Up.  We will stop after two rotations for a brief snack and play before then continuing the final two activities. We will come together as a year group for reflection time before returning back to school.

Each class will require five parent helpers to help ensure the safety of the children on the beach and then returning to school. If you are able to help with a group, please sign up on the sheet outside your child’s classroom. We will require your help from 8.20am on Wednesday 6th November until approximately 12pm. All children will be back at school for normal pick up at the end of the day.

Please note that all parent helpers need to have completed the Self Declaration for Sexual Convictions Check and acknowledge they have read the Code of Conduct and the DBIS Child Protection policy LINK before the trip. If you have completed this for any previous trips it does not need completing again.

We look forward to sharing our learning with you on the day.

Kind regards,

The EY1 Team
