EY1: week commencing 3rd October

Dear EY1 Families,

There was lots of excitement last week in class as we have been researching our class animals in Discovery. We have also been exploring our understanding of number composition through tens frames and Numicon. Next week, we will continue our animal research in Discovery/English and develop our understanding of addition in Mathematics.

It has been a very exciting week selecting our home readers; please be aware that each child will take home one home reading book at a time. If your child has finished their book and would like another in the week, please let your class teacher know. If your child is confident in their comprehension, then we will happily let them choose an extra book for the week.

A gentle reminder to please bring a named A3 folder for your child to take home a library and home reader book; it is helpful to bring this every day, especially if your child wishes to take home an extra home reader book. As per the uniform policy, please ensure all hair past the shoulders is tied up when coming to school, for health and safety reasons.

Whilst your child is at school, our team has planned purposefully learning opportunities for your child to explore; with this in mind, please can you support us by keeping Pokemon cards and toys at home, as sometimes having these items in school can bring anxiety or distraction to their learning.

Kind regards,

The EY1 Team
