EY2 Student Council Representative

Dear EY2 Families,

As part of our Discovery topic this term, ‘Our Class is a Family’, we will be inviting children to volunteer to be Student Council Representatives. We are looking for two students from each EY2 class to be selected for the role, and they will be their class representatives for the academic year.

The role involves gathering ideas and feelings from class friends and sharing these with the Student Council in the meetings. The representatives will also attend monthly meetings with Ms Coote and feed back to their class friends.

We are looking for students who demonstrate our Learner Profile skills: Committed Learner, Balanced Individual, Mindful Leader, Responsible Citizen, Effective Collaborator, Confident Communicator, Problem Solver and Creative Thinker.

We will be able to support your child with their presentation in class, should they wish to volunteer, but we would also encourage them to work on their presentation at home if they would like to. Students might like to stand up and present why they believe they would be a good Student Council Representative, or they may like to write it and have their teacher read it to the class.

The children will be asked to have their reasons prepared by Thursday 29th September, after which there will be a blind vote to select two candidates.

Do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher if you have any further questions.

Many thanks,

The EY2 Team
