FOBISIA poetry competition

Dear Parents and Guardians,

The English department has registered the school for this year’s FOBISIA poetry competition, hosted by Taipei European School (TES). The students have an exciting opportunity to be creative in writing poetry based on the theme of Survival. We would like to have your support in encouraging your child to participate in this, and English teachers will introduce this to students in lessons.

For your perusal, below are some keys points relating to the expectations and procedures for the winning submissions:

  • Poems should be titled ‘Survival’.
  • Poems should not exceed 40 lines.
  • Please include the following details at the top of each submission:
        – Name and location of school
        – First and last name of student
        – Age group of student (i.e. KS3 or KS4/KS5)
  • Schools may submit up to three entries per age group, totalling a maximum of six entries per school if registered for both KS3 and KS4/KS5 age groups.
  • Poems should be saved as pdfs and submitted by email to the students’ English teacher by Friday 6th May. We will then forward the final submissions by Monday 9th May.
  • Winners will be announced on Monday 23rd May.
  • Winning poems will be featured in the June edition of FOBISIAN!

We are excited to witness the talent and creativity of our young learners!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Sincerely,

Amy Lee
