Friday is Book Week Character Dress Up Day!

Dear DBIS Community,

On Friday 22nd April we invite all students to dress as their favourite book character and make a $20 (optional) donation to our chosen Hong Kong charity, Bring Me A Book (BMABHK).

BMABHK works to bring the benefits of reading to Hong Kong’s most underserved children and families through the provision of quality books and libraries, training sessions and author visits. It seeks to transform lives, one book at a time.

We are also supporting BMABHK with our DBIS Readathon and encourage students to get sponsored and start reading! The Readathon will continue until 17th May.

This year our Book Week celebrations have focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, a collection of 17 interlinked global goals designed to be “a blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainable future for all people and the world by 2030”. BMABHK is a great example of SDG 4 Quality Education for all. You can find a host of resources about the Global Goals on the library website, including free online books and videos.

Thank you so much for your support!
