Hour of Code Week

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Next week (week commencing Monday 5th December) is one our favourite weeks of the Learning Technologies year: Hour of Code.

The Hour of Code is a one-hour celebration of Computer Science, using fun tutorials to show that anybody can learn the basics of coding. This year over 15 million students are expected to participate across the globe. Here is a great video you can watch here to learn about Hour of Code and why learning Computer Science is so important to our children.

At DBIS, we are proud of our Learning Technologies programme that already ensures that all Primary and EY 1 and 2 students have regular hands-on coding and Computer Science lessons. Next week is our opportunity to celebrate that learning with millions of other students worldwide. To do this, each class will take part in a dedicated Hour of Code lesson that can showcase and develop their skills.

More information about Hour of Code is available at: https://hourofcode.com/hk/gb

We can’t wait to get started!
