Introducing the Jigsaw PSHE Programme

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to introduce you to the Jigsaw PSHE (Personal, Social, Health and Economic) programme that has been integrated into our existing ‘Learning for Life’ curriculum this academic year.

Jigsaw is a comprehensive and engaging curriculum designed to support the emotional and social development of our students. It embodies a positive philosophy along with creative teaching and learning activities to nurture children’s development as compassionate and well-rounded human beings; it also builds their capacity to learn.

Jigsaw brings together PSHE education, compulsory relationships, health & sex education, emotional literacy, mindfulness and social skills. It is designed as a whole-school approach, with all year groups working on the same theme (Puzzle) at the same time, at their own level.

There are six Puzzles (half-term units of work), and each year group is taught one lesson per week. All lessons are delivered in an age-and-stage appropriate way so that they meet children’s needs.

Key Features of Jigsaw

Sequential Learning: Each year builds on the previous one, ensuring a progressive understanding of PSHE topics.

Mindfulness Practices: Integrates mindfulness to help students manage stress and improve focus.

Inclusivity: Designed to be inclusive for all students, respecting diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
