Mad Hair/ Wacky Hat Day – Friday 20th May

Dear Parents,

Our Year 10 students have initiated a fundraising campaign in support of one of our DBIS families – the Mastroianni family.

In order to support Luigi Mastroianni’s ongoing cancer treatment, some wonderful Year 10 students have decided to launch The Hair Raiser, whereby donations will be collected to support our student volunteers in shaving their heads.

To support their efforts, Mr Gallagher will be joining them to raise money too. The class in Year 3/4 and the class in Year 5/6 who raise the most money will be able to nominate a teacher to shave Mr Gallagher’s head live in assembly on Friday 20th May. Donations will be warmly received on that day.

This year, our Student Council members have decided to invite children to join in too, with a Mad Hair/ Wacky Hat Day on Friday 20th May.

The students will wear their uniform, as normal, but they can go crazy with their hair – they can curl it, twist it, crimp it, style it or temporarily spray it! It’s time to get creative. They could also wear a crazy wig! Alternatively, they can design and create a wacky hat to wear. The choice is theirs.

If your child is keen to take part, it would be greatly appreciated if they brought in a $20 donation, which will then be collected by their classroom teacher.

Thank you in advance for your kind support.
