Nursery Class Resumption Information

Dear Nursery Families,

We are overjoyed to be welcoming our Nursery friends back into our classrooms earlier than expected! The EdB has confirmed that Nursery students may return to face-to-face (F2F) teaching from tomorrow, Thursday 28th of April. The school day will be the same as before the school closure. The Nursery day starts at 8.55am and ends at 2.40pm.

General Arrangements:

Due to the short notice of our reopening, the two learning videos for Thursday and Friday will be available on Seesaw for those who are unable to attend F2F learning this week. However, Google Meets will no longer be taking place, as well as no activity packs for the coming weeks.

Entering the Campus:

When entering the campus, all adults must scan the Leave Home Safe App and display their proof of vaccination, as well as adults and children taking their temperature at the gate. Each child will have a new temperature and RAT card; you will need to fill in your temperature and RAT result before school starts and show this to your child’s class teacher at the door before they can enter the classroom. If you have not recorded your RAT result, you will be asked to go home and retest to show proof, or you can do your RAT in the medical room with our EY Nurse. If your child displays any fever or respiratory symptoms, the EY Nurse will ask you to collect your child from the school campus.

What your child will need:

When returning to school, please ensure that your child brings their DBIS bag, water bottle, DBIS hat, rest time pillow (if not returned), empty learning pack wallet, and spare masks and clothes. We would like to remind you to please label all items clearly with your child’s name, including shoes.

Nursery lunch will continue to take place between 11.30am and 12pm. We kindly ask that your child has a clearly labelled lunch box (name and class) that is placed in the boxes outside your child’s classroom. We are a nut aware school, therefore no items containing nuts may be consumed on the school premises, including store-bought Pesto (Pine Nuts) and Nutella (Hazelnuts).

A daily morning snack of fruit, vegetables and crackers will be provided by the school for the children.

Pick Up Cards

When collecting your child from school, the agreed adults must show their child’s Pick Up Card. If a different adult is collecting your child you will need to communicate this with Ms Angel ([email protected]). If you have forgotten your Pick Up Card, you will need to sign out at the office.

We would like to thank all our Nursery families for their invaluable support during this difficult time. We understand that transitioning back to school may come with some anxieties; please be aware that we are here to support you and your child in their return to F2F learning. If you do have any concerns or questions, please speak to your child’s class teacher or a member of the Early Years Leadership team. Rest assured we will do all that we can to ensure your child thrives and flourishes in their final term in Nursery.

Kind regards,

The Nursery Team
