Term 2.2 Learning Experiences for Year 5

Dear Year 5 Families, 

We have lots of exciting learning experiences planned for the next few weeks as we launch into our new unit of learning ‘Interstellar: Our Place in the Universe’.

 

• Next week, we will be creating a solar system on Tai Pak beach on the following days: 

5RE: Monday 6th February from 1.20pm to 3pm 

5CG: Tuesday 7th February from 10.30am to 12.10pm 

5BW: Thursday 9th February from 10.30am to 12.10pm

We ask that students come to school wearing their PE kits on this day, and bring a hat and water bottle. 

 

• On Wednesday 15th February, we will be taking our learning into the ‘Discovery Dome’, which will be set up in the Globe Theatre. We will blast off into space with Apollo 8 and then look back at Earth and discuss why humans as a species look out into space and want to explore. We will then ask the question: Are we alone in this super-massive universe?

 

• A reminder that our Year 5 Camp Information Meeting is on Monday 13th February at 5.30pm in the Globe Theatre. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
