Upcoming events in Year 6

Dear Parents,

We have some exciting events coming up in Year 6 this Term, where the children will have the opportunity to showcase their learning.

Firstly the Year 6 Public Speaking Competition Final will take place on Monday 20th March at 8:30 am. The children will spend some time in class over the next two weeks preparing a short speech on the topic of Global Goal Successes. Semi-finals will take place within the classroom where all children will present their speech to their class. Finalists will then be selected and they will present their speech to an audience in The Globe.

Secondly, we are pleased to confirm that our next Celebration of Learning event will take place on Wednesday 29th March at 8:30 am. We will be hosting a Waxwork Museum in The Globe, where children will take on the role of a migrant that they have researched and answer your questions in role! Children are encouraged to dress for the part they are playing in the Waxwork Museum. All parents and family members are invited to come along on this date. In class over the coming days, children will be selecting their focus migrant and will spend some time preparing for this. We hope you all enjoy celebrating our learning from our Term 2 Unit of Inquiry: Why do people migrate?

Best wishes,

The Year 6 Team
