We wanted to update you with a difficult decision we have had to make regarding the Year 13 Graduation and Leavers celebration.
As it stands the guidance from the EdB has not changed and we are still unable to hold events such as Graduations or Leavers Celebrations in the traditional way due to social distancing restrictions. As such we will be holding a Graduation ceremony but unfortunately not a Leavers Celebration.Â
The Graduation Ceremony for Year 13 students will be held on 11th June in the Globe from 12pm and at the moment we plan to live stream the event to parents. If the EdB guidance changes in the week preceding the event we will of course alter these arrangements and invite parents to attend in person but we may not know this until much closer to the time.
Unfortunately due to the nature of a Leavers Celebration which requires external bookings etc, and since the EdB guidance is still restricting us from holding these sorts of events we felt that it was better to make an announcement now regarding this rather than waiting until mere weeks or days before the scheduled date. This would allow students to make alternative arrangements to celebrate with their families ahead of time should they wish.
It has not been a decision taken lightly as we are aware that for all involved these celebrations are very important and something that everyone looks forward too, we are bitterly disappointed to be in this position.
