Welcome back email – 19th August 2022

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the new academic year! I am pleased to inform you that we are starting the year with an enrolment of 940 and on behalf of the Staff, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our students and their families. The staff have been returning to DBIS over the last week and are very much looking forward to welcoming the students for the start of the new academic year. If you are new to the DBIS family, please do not hesitate to approach any of our staff as the term progresses – they will be happy to help you with any queries you might have.
Excellent Exam Results
It was celebrations all round at DBIS as the Class of 2022 received their A level and BTEC results on Thursday, with students winning places at some of the best universities in the world. This year’s results demonstrate great achievements across the curriculum and continue the trend of excellent examination results at DBIS with 44% of all grades achieved ranging from A*- A and 67% graded A*- B. We are absolutely thrilled with our results this year and this success is a great testament to the students’ own hard work, coupled with the enormous support given by the teaching staff at DBIS. I am truly delighted for one and all!
Summer work
Once again we have invested in our campus facilities over the course of the summer. To support teaching and learning, a number of classrooms and makerspace rooms have had improvements made to their projectors, floors, walls and furnishings. Much needed enhancements have been made to the EY toilet facilities, the medical room, the cafeteria, changing rooms and play areas. Facilities improvements are an ever present necessity and this will continue moving forward.
