Year 1 Parent Information Morning on Woodwork

Woodwork Parent Workshop
Tuesday 30th April at 8.45am
Globe Theatre, DBIS Primary Campus

Dear Parents and Carers,

We would like to invite you to attend our information morning on introducing woodwork in Year 1.  This informative session will enable parents to gain an insight into the benefits of woodwork which works alongside the Year 1 curriculum, as well as an opportunity to ask any questions you might have in relation to this.

It is more important than ever for the new generation to be able to think creatively and develop problem-solving skills.  Woodwork facilitates such skills as children make their own choices and learn through trial and error. It sparks creative thinking and imagination, qualities that are at least as important in our changing world as the practical skills gained. Woodwork invites connection between all aspects of learning and development – so it can be central to the curriculum.

We are looking forward to seeing you on Tuesday 30th April at 8.45am in the Globe theatre where we can share more information on the benefits of introducing woodwork.

Kind regards,

Angharad Cook
