Year 11 celebration – Parent-Organised Event

Dear Parents and Guardians of Year 11,

Year 11 students will mark their final day in school with a day of activities and an assembly with their Head of Year. It is not customary for DBIS to have a celebration party for Year 11 students (as we might do for Year 13 students).

However, a group of parents have decided that they would like to organise an external event to celebrate the end of Year 11, the details of which I share below. Please note that the responsibility for this event lies entirely with parents as the school is not associated with the organisation, staffing or running of the event.

Here is the message from the Celebration Committee:

Dear Year 11 Parents,

A few Y11 parents have formed a small Year 11 Celebration Committee to organise a party for our students for the end of this term.

We’d like to introduce ourselves:

Helen Medd (Parent of Jessica)
Jenifer Calvi Dubrowski (Parent of Max)
Liz Ross (Parent of William)
Saku Jayanetti (Parent of Mindi)
Jodi Broughton (Parent of Benji)
Marlyn Hazelton (Parent of Tommy)

There is a Y11 WhatsApp parent chat group already set up. If you are not on this and would like to be included, please email me at  [email protected]

We will be posting the invitation on the DBIS hub and to the students via Google Classrooms.

Please save the date.
Date: TBD Friday 16th June or Tuesday 20th June 2023
Time: 6pm till 11pm
Venue: TBD Junk trip

Parents will be invited for a celebratory drink at the start of the event. More details to follow and costs to be finalised.

We’ll be in touch shortly.

Thanks,
Celebration Committee
