Year 5 Treasure Island Camp Update

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Before the winter break, we were able to share the exciting news that the children in Year 5 will be participating in their first overnight camp. We would like to take this opportunity to share some reminders and updates.

Dates and Location:

The two-night camp will take place from Tuesday 7th March 2023 to Thursday 9th March 2023 at Treasure Island, Pui O. The children will be taken by coach on the morning of Tuesday 7th March and will return to DBIS by coach on Thursday 9th March in time for the usual dismissal at 3.10 pm.

Cost

The total cost of the camp will be HK$3,300. This includes all transport, accommodation, activities, 2x breakfasts, 2x lunches and 2x dinners.

Please settle your payment on or before Friday 20th February 2023. Payment can be made in the form of a cheque or bank transfer to our HSBC A/C #111-459624-001. Thereafter, please kindly email [email protected] with your bank confirmation and student name for our records.

Permission

Please complete the attached Jotform link by Friday 20th February 2023 to give permission for your child to attend the camp.

Parent Information Briefing

We will be hosting an information session for parents on Monday 13th February at 5.30pm. The meeting will be held in person in the Globe. A representative from the Treasure Island Group will be in attendance to share more information about the accommodation at the camp and the schedule of activities that the children will take part in. If there are any specific questions or areas of discussion you would like addressed in this meeting, please contact Bryony Wilson, Year Group Leader ([email protected]), ahead of the meeting so we can ensure that your questions are addressed. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher.

Camps have always been such an integral part of our Experiential Curriculum at DBIS as they provide children with an opportunity to gain more independence, create deeper bonds with friends, build self-esteem and confidence and have a great deal of fun. We are very much looking forward to taking your child on their much-anticipated first DBIS Camp!

Kind regards,

The Year 5 Team
