Year 6 Migration Simulation

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope you all had an enjoyable CNY break. Best wishes for the Year of the Rabbit!

Next Monday (6th February), children in Year 6 will be leaving campus to take part in a ‘migration simulation’. This links directly to our new unit of inquiry ‘Why do people Migrate?’ and is designed to give the children a taste of the experiences that a refugee may face. The simulation will take place at the DB lookout point. We will walk up the steps opposite the school to reach the lookout. Students will depart campus at approximately 9.20am and return in time for lunch. We would like to invite parents to accompany us to support and encourage the students to walk up the hill and question them while they are taking part in the simulation. If you are free on Monday morning and would like to help, please email your child’s class teacher by the end of the day on Thursday 2nd February.

Best wishes,

The Year 6 Team
