Year 6 Thailand Camp Information

Dear Parents,

I am writing to you to give you some information regarding the Thailand residential trip for Year 6.

Year 6 will be travelling to Chiang Rai, Thailand from Sunday February 16th – Friday February 21st. Mr Rob White, our Experiential Outdoor Learning Coordinator and myself as Year Group Leader for Year 6, will be the trip leaders for this residential. Any questions or queries you may have regarding this trip should be communicated through myself or your child’s class teacher. 

The estimated cost of the trip is $8100. This includes flights, accommodation, food, insurance, travel and all activities. This is only an estimated cost as we are currently in the process of confirming flights, transport both here and in Thailand, and residential activities. Once this has all been confirmed, we will be able to give you an accurate cost. 

If there are any concerns with paying for the trip to Thailand, please do speak to Ms Hones or Ms Lees and this can be discussed further.

The Year 6 Camp is the first opportunity for many of our students to travel overseas on a school trip. They will be challenged in new activities to develop new skills in a unique and stimulating outdoor environment. Students will need to work together to support each other throughout the trip and subsequently will develop teamwork and leadership skills as well as empathy and compassion for others.

On Thursday November 28th, a parent information evening will be held in the Globe at 5:30 pm. This is where we will present you with all the information needed regarding locations, activities, health and safety, food, accommodation and much more. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions regarding the trip should there be any further information required. 

The payment deadline for the trip will be Monday December 9th and we will send the final payment details to you nearer the time.
