Year 9 – End of Term Key Messages

Dear Parents,

As we embark upon the Easter break, I would like to take the opportunity to thank our Year 9 students for their hard work, commitment, and resilience over the past term – their ‘Keep Calm and Carry On’ attitude to learning has been impressive! I would also like to thank parents for your continued support during these challenging times – it has been hugely appreciated. I wish you all a well-deserved break!

A couple of key messages:

Student Safety and behaviour around DB

I just wanted to make you aware that incidents of poor and dangerous behaviour of school-age children have been reported to the school. One such report referred to students on a building rooftop in DB.

While there is no suggestion that these incidents were necessarily related to students at DBIS, it seems prudent to take this opportunity to ask you all to remind your children to be safe when out in the community, particularly in light of the upcoming Easter break where students may be out in our community with their friends.

It would be greatly appreciated if parents could remind students to be safe when out and to avoid situations where other children are behaving inappropriately.

Year 9 Reports – Update

As you are aware, we did not provide the most recent short report, due to the move across to online learning. However, it is the intention that we will provide a Term 3, Year 9 report on 11th June 2020.

In the meantime, if you require some informal feedback regarding your child’s progress in a particular subject, please do not hesitate to email either your child’s tutor or the specific subject teacher concerned.

Thank you for your continued support in your child’s learning during these challenging times. I wish you and your family a restful and enjoyable Easter break.

Kind regards,
