Welcome to the start of Term 3, 2020.

Dear Primary Families,
Welcome to Term 3
I hope you have all enjoyed a restful Easter break.
Term 3 has not started the way any of us would have wished with classes still closed for students, so I would like to start by thanking you for your continued support with our online and offline learning during these first weeks of the coming term.
We are excited to still be able to start our Term 3 with our DBIS Book Week.  Information regarding this will be shared through your child’s Seesaw, but we start on Monday by building our Word Wall. I know the children will enjoy the coming week’s activities and look forward to being able to share them with you via Seesaw or Google Classroom.
As a result of continuing parent and student feedback, we are actively addressing how we further develop the online learning provision for our primary children. Live Google Meet sessions with class teachers will continue for all students twice a day, adult-led learning drop-ins and support groups will continue across the week and we will be giving all children the opportunity to meet live with their Mandarin teachers for an hour a day every Monday to Thursday. Details of the timings for these sessions will be shared through the children’s Seesaw classrooms, and the Mandarin google classrooms.
At the end of the last term, I asked all families to help us with the class friends selection to assist in making new classes for the next academic year.  If you have not yet done so, please can you speak to your child about their 4 friends and complete the jot form here – www.jotform.com/200908811724453
We remain hopeful that we will be able to open classes again in the coming weeks, however in the meantime, if you have any questions around this please feel free to contact me directly.  We look forward very much to seeing the children during their live sessions in the coming week.
Kind regards,
Susan Walter
