Dear Redress‘ teachers community,
I hope this email finds you well. Understand that many of you have already started your summer holiday or are currently busy at the exam peak, but then I still wanted to send you an invitation to our upcoming one-hour casual webinar and hope you could make time to join us!
At the schools’ education team at Redress, we are often approached by teachers with questions about how to better incorporate sustainable fashion into their curriculum. While it may seem like a niche topic, I’m sure we are all aligned that it is essential and relevant to discuss sustainable fashion with students, because clothes are a big part of our everyday lives, and engaging our youth is critical to tackle the fashion’s impacts such as climate change, resource scarcity and textile waste.
Therefore, to help teachers prepare for this new education topic in the coming academic year, we’re running a teacher webinar next Thursday, 16 June on ‘Teaching Sustainable Fashion in Hong Kong’. We’ll be sharing our new resources available on the refreshed ECF Circular Fashion Education Toolkit and introducing our upcoming school activities. It is also our honour to have have two guest speakers, Ms. Gail Smith from South Island School and Ms. Norbyah Nolasco from Hong Kong International School – both experienced teachers in bringing sustainable fashion into classrooms – to share their teaching projects and insights on how to engage students in taking action. Audience is more than welcomed to raise your questions and suggestions.
