Reception Transition Events

Dear Reception Families,

 

To help Reception children with their transition to Year 1, we have organised the following transition events. 

 

Year 1 Play and Stay Session – Wednesday 21st June 

This will be an opportunity for your child and one accompanying adult to visit their new Year 1 classroom and meet their new teacher (if they are currently at DBIS). In order to accommodate space, your child will be allocated one of the following sessions:

 

3.30pm–3.50pm – Session 1

 

4.00pm–4.20pm – Session 2

 

Class teachers will send a message via Seesaw by Monday 19th June to inform you of your session and complete class lists will be available on the Parent Portal on Friday 23rd June.

Please note that one adult must accompany your child to this session. Children are to be collected as usual from the Early Years Campus at 2.40pm, and we ask families to make their own way to the Main campus for the session. 

 

Moving on Up Morning – Friday 23rd June

This will be another opportunity for your child to visit their Year 1 class. We kindly ask that you drop your child at the Main Campus at 8.45am.

 

If your child is not continuing at DBIS in Year 1, we still ask that you drop them off at the Main Campus, as they will be participating in a special Goodbye to DBIS activity. 

 

The children will then return to the Early Years campus via coach.
