FS-1 Reminders: Week Beginning 16th September

Dear FS-1 Families,

We are so proud of our FS-1 children, having completed their first full week of full days.

They are continuing to settle well into their routines and are becoming more resilient at trying the new experiences that are available throughout their school day.

A few gentle reminders:

Please ensure that you have shared a family photograph via email with your class teacher as these will be displayed in our classes and are an important way for your child to feel a sense of belonging.

When sending in grapes, olives and cherry tomatoes at lunchtime, they must be cut in half lengthways to reduce the risk of choking.

DBIS is a nut-free school; please check that the food that is being sent in with your child at lunch is not made with nuts.

We are fostering a growing sense of independence with our younger learners. When accessing our learning opportunities outdoors, they often have to take off their shoes and socks then put them back on before returning to class. To support this process, please give your children the time to undertake this process by themselves outside of school as well.

FS-1 will be visiting the library every week, and the children must have returned their library books in their folders each week to make sure that they can borrow a new book.

Our class photographs will take place on Thursday 19th and Friday 20th September; please ensure that the children come in on their photo day wearing their full school uniform (not PE kit).

Best wishes,

The FS-1 Team
