UPDATED- 4/10/24: Year 4 Hong Kong Museum of Art Trip

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to inform you of the exciting news that the Year 4 students will take a school trip to the Hong Kong Museum of Art. This experience will kick start our new Discovery unit of inquiry, ‘Visual Representation’, and support the children with interpreting art.

Classes will go in pairs to visit the museum on the following days:

  • Tuesday 29th October: 4KB & 4KT
  • Wednesday 30th October: 4EJ & 4LB

If you would like your child to attend this exciting opportunity, please complete the JotForm linked HERE.

Drop off and dismissal
We will be taking ferries to get to the museum.
Please can we ask you to drop your child off by 8.15am at the DB ferry terminal on the date of their trip. They will need an Octopus card topped up with a minimum of HK$62 on it. This will cover the cost of the ferry to and from Pier 3 and the Star Ferry to and from TST.
We will be taking the 8.30am ferry, so we will not be able to wait for any late arrivals.
We will return to school before the end of the school day hours; therefore, dismissal will be the normal arrangement.

Snack and lunch
We will be eating morning snacks and lunch outside the museum. Please prepare a substantial morning snack, a picnic-style lunch and a water bottle.

Uniform
Please send children to school in their regular uniform.

Parent helpers
We would love the support of parents, and we are looking for three parents for each class to join us on the day. Please let your class teacher know by Monday 14th October 2024 if you can help. If we have more than three volunteers, we will choose names at random to make this a fair process.
Once confirmed, we will send parent volunteers a code of conduct jotform to sign ahead of the trip, and the trip leader will discuss the itinerary and risk assessment on the morning of the trip.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your class teacher.

Kind regards,
The Year 4 Team
