Welcome To Term 3 in FS-1

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome back! We hope you and your children had a wonderful and restful break together after an action-packed Term 2. 

We are now embarking on Term 3, which looks set to be equally as busy and fun filled as the last term.

In Discovery this term, the children will continue to explore our ‘Let’s Pretend’ unit. We will be exploring how to foster our children’s imaginations, develop their language and promote diverse forms of expression through the use of traditional tales and popular stories. We will also explore our unit, ‘Sharing the Planet’. In this unit we learn about sharing our planet with people, plants and animals that all grow and change. We have a role to play and responsibility to take care of and appreciate our planet.

Please continue to discuss your child’s learning with them. Much of their work is recorded on Seesaw.

Moving into Term 3, our FS-1 children will be taking home wordless home readers. These will be sent home alongside your child’s library books on their library day. 

Thank you to all of the families who have signed up to be mystery readers or share a cultural celebration with their class. Having a mystery reader is always a highlight for the children. Class teachers will post new sign-up sheets for Term 3. For families unable to sign up in person but who wish to do so, please contact your child’s class teacher.
