We are delighted to announce a milestone in our school’s growth, as we have recently been recognised as a COBIS Accredited Member, joining just three other schools in Hong Kong.
This accreditation follows a rigorous quality assurance process, conducted in partnership with the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) and building on our recent successful re-accreditation with the Council of International Schools (CIS). The accreditation clearly validates the high standard of international education we deliver, which is firmly rooted in our mission of empowering all students to achieve personal excellence.
Who are COBIS?
COBIS, or the Council of British International Schools, is a global membership association representing over 300 British international schools of quality across the world. COBIS exists to support its member schools in developing students who will have a positive impact on society. By achieving Accredited Member status through their accreditation scheme, DBIS proudly joins a network of schools committed to world-class standards of education and continuous improvement.

Our journey to becoming a COBIS-accredited member was a collaborative effort that involved updating COBIS on our strategic vision and development plans. This process aligns with the ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

The newly forged partnership with COBIS represents far more than a mere recognition of quality; it establishes a vital strategic mechanism designed to empower DBIS in achieving several core institutional priorities. We anticipate that this collaboration will be instrumental in continuing to enhance the quality of education and support we provide to our esteemed students and dedicated staff.

Student engagement will be enhanced through a new range of virtual and in-person events, competitions and prestigious awards spanning the COBIS network. These are designed to inspire students of all ages, complementing the rich array of events our students already partake in at DBIS. - Safeguarding and safer recruitment remain paramount priorities. The COBIS standards will help to further refine our remaining processes and powerfully complement our existing rigorous work with both FOBISIA and CIS. This ensures the continued effectiveness of our approach for our diverse student body, which comprises over 1,150 students representing more than 50 nationalities.
