Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy New Year! I hope that you and your families had a wonderful and restful Christmas break. It has been a pleasure to welcome the students back this week for what promises to be a busy and rewarding second term.
It was fantastic to connect with so many of you at the Year 10 PTSC on Thursday 8th January. We hope the opportunity to speak directly with teachers provided clear guidance on the next steps for your child. As they navigate the first year of their (I)GCSE and BTEC courses, these conversations are vital in ensuring they feel supported and empowered to succeed throughout the remainder of the academic year.
It is hard to believe we are already halfway through the academic year! By now, our Year 10 students have settled well into their chosen courses and are becoming increasingly familiar with the heightened expectations and workload.
Recently, students have been participating in 1:1 mentoring sessions with their tutors. These meetings are a space for students to reflect on their first reports, academic grades, approaches to learning, and general wellbeing.
Following these discussions, students have set specific goals in their diaries to guide their efforts this term. I encourage you to discuss these goals with your child at home. This dialogue is a wonderful way to bridge the gap between school and home, ensuring we are all working together to support their progress.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress or wellbeing, please do not hesitate to reach out to their tutor or me. We look forward to another productive and collaborative term with all our Year 10 families. Please find key dates for Term 2 below.
