Dear DBIS Families,
We are delighted to announce that DBIS will be celebrating Wellbeing Week from 26th–30th January 2026. This week is dedicated to promoting personal growth, strong mental health, meaningful connection and a sense of belonging across all year groups. Students will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities, including discos, Mental Health First Aid training, movie night and slime making – to name but a few!
We would like to draw your attention to a few highlights of the week:
DBIS Student Art Exhibition: This year’s exhibition focuses on the theme of ‘Growth’. All students are invited to submit a piece of art that reflects their perspective of growth and wellbeing. The submission deadline is Monday 26th January to their class teacher/tutor, with their name and class clearly labelled on the back. These works will be displayed across the campus on Thursday & Friday to celebrate our students’ collective creativity.
Parent Workshop – ‘Growing Together: Supporting Your Child’s Mental Health Journey’ (Thursday 29th January): We are excited to host a specialist Q&A panel in the Globe from 8:30am to 9:30am. This session will feature four renowned psychologists who will explore practical strategies for supporting children’s mental health. This workshop is open to families across all phases.
Healthy Living & Smoothie Bikes –Â We are excited to introduce ‘smoothie bikes’Â which allow students to blend fruit into healthy smoothies as they pedal! To highlight the importance of exercise and healthy eating, our teachers and prefects will be leading the way with “pedalling for smoothies” sessions throughout the week.
Dress to Express Day (Friday 30th January): Students are invited to come to school wearing clothes that express their personality, hobbies or how they are feeling. We are asking for a voluntary donation (HK$10) to support the vital work of Mind HK, a local mental health charity that supports youth mental health in Hong Kong.
We believe this week will be a wonderful opportunity for our community to reflect on the importance of wellbeing, community, connection and mental health.
Thank you for your continued support.
Kind regards,
Jessica Hickling
