Cathay I Can Fly Youth Academy 2026

Cathay I Can Fly Youth Academy 2026 is now open for local teenagers aged 14–18 who are studying in Year 10 or above. This programme offers students a unique opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the aviation industry and better understand their role and responsibilities in society. Since its launch in 2003, the Cathay I Can Fly Programme has graduated over 4,400 young people.

To mark Cathay’s 80th anniversary this year, the group is launching a special edition of the I Can Fly Youth Academy programme. A total of 80 selected candidates from Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland will take part in a unique two-week aviation training programme. This year’s programme features comprehensive aviation training, a social service day, and a study tour to China to broaden participants’ industry insights. Outstanding participants also have the chance to be selected for an overseas aviation experiential trip to Australia during the summer.

Selection criteria will be based on:

  • The applicant’s interest in aviation;
  • The applicant’s ability to communicate effectively in both English and Cantonese, demonstrating strong English proficiency and basic Mandarin skills;
  • The applicant’s personal qualities (independence, motivation to excel, willingness to learn);
  • The applicant’s experience in:
  • – Social service
  • – Environmental protection
  • – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) activities
  • – Leadership
  • – Creativity
