Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome back! We hope you and your children had an enjoyable and restful break together after a busy Term 2.
We are now embarking on Term 3, which looks set to be equally as action packed and fun filled as the last term.
Learning in Term 3
In Discovery this term, the children will explore our unit ‘Sharing the Planet’. In this unit, they will learn about sharing our planet with people, plants and animals that all grow and change. They will learn how we have a role to play and a responsibility to take care of and appreciate our planet. They will also explore the unit ‘Moving Forward: Changes and Journeys’. In this unit, our children will explore the concept of movement and transportation within their community. This unit also provides opportunities for the children to explore transitions in their own lives, such as moving from one activity to another or preparing for the next stage of their learning journey.
Please continue to discuss your child’s learning with them. Many of their learning experiences are recorded on Seesaw.
As we move into Term 3, our FS-1 children will be taking home wordless home readers. These will be sent home alongside their library books on their library day. This process was introduced during our Term 2 reading workshop, and more information will be shared on the Hub.
Family Volunteers
Thank you to all of the families who have signed up to be mystery readers or share a cultural celebration with their class. Having a mystery reader is always a highlight for the children. Class teachers will post new sign-up sheets for Term 3. If you are unable to sign up in person but wish to do so, please contact your child’s class teacher.
