Dear Parent / Carer,
As part of our individualised curriculum at DBIS, at times we invite students to participate in enrichment opportunities both within and outside school in their area(s) of passion. If your child has a passion for or strong capability in Maths, we would like to offer an opportunity to extend their learning through participating in the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), which is hosted online by ASDAN China.
Your child would participate in the competition from home, online. Participating students will need one laptop to enter the exam system and one phone/iPad to log in to Zoom and sit beside them to act as a monitoring device.
Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Competition details from AMC:
“The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives; it is open to students in grades 3 to 12. Australia’s leading educators and academics, with a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards, actively design the unique AMC problems each year. We believe every student should have the chance to discover their full potential in mathematical problem solving, in a way that is approachable, interesting, challenging, and creative. The cost per student to participate is HK$215.”
