Arrangements for Early Years in the event of a T8 signal tomorrow (Wednesday 19th August)

Dear Early Years Families,

There is currently a T3 severe weather warning in place and the Hong Kong Observatory is considering raising this to a T8 overnight. If this happens and a T8 is still in place by 6am, the school campus will be closed for all staff tomorrow.

Your child’s learning has already been uploaded to Seesaw which they can access as normal. Our class teachers will also plan to host their live Google Meet sessions for welcome time / community time in Reception – EY2. Specialist lessons will aim to run as normal. As our teachers will be working from home, we ask for your patience and understanding if the Google Meet live sessions do not run smoothly as internet connections may not be as stable as when teachers are in school.

For our children in EY1 and EY2, RWI will be cancelled tomorrow as our EAs will not be able to access the resources they need to run the sessions, in addition, any scheduled library story sessions for Reception will be rescheduled. The Reception Assembly with myself and Mrs Cassidy will, however, go ahead as planned, as will Parent Teacher Conferences for Nursery parents.

The Nursery and new Reception family virtual coffee morning will go ahead as planned at 11:00am – please see the email sent today for the Google Meet link to access this.

Should there be a T3 signal or lower in place by 6am tomorrow, our teachers and education assistants will offer the full online home learning programme as planned. We kindly ask for your understanding should changes need to be made to your child’s timetable tomorrow and thank you in advance for your flexibility and support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] should you have any questions or concerns.

With best wishes
