Update 01.12.23 – Carols on the Pitch Information – Year 6

Dear Year 6 Parents,

Your children have been very busy preparing for Carols on the Pitch, which is on 13th December at 5pm. They will be performing with their year group that evening, as well as with any Music ECAs that they are a part of. We would love to see as many parents, friends and caregivers as possible there that night to support the children.

Song:

The song Year 6s will be performing that evening is “Candy Cane Lane”. If your child would like to practise the words and timing at home, please go to your child’s Music Seesaw and check under “Activities”. There, you will find the lyrics, and they can also follow along with Y6DR in the video!

Costume:

Year 6 children will need to be “citizens of Candy Cane Lane” that evening, which will require them to be dressed in red and white – ideally in candy cane stripes! Black leggings are acceptable if worn with a red and white top. Please avoid pictures and logos. Shoes may be red, white or black. If your child has small festive head accessories (e.g. Santa hats, bows, headbands), they are encouraged to wear them too!

Meeting & Dismissal:

  • Those in Chinese Drumming or Samba are required to meet in the Globe at 5.15pm. Their teachers will bring them out from there for their performance. After their performance, they should meet their class teacher in their classroom by 6pm. Their teachers will bring them back to the stage at 6.15pm.
  • Those in the Primary Choir are required to meet in the Globe at 5.30pm. Their teachers will bring them out from there for their first performance, and they will remain on stage for the remainder of the concert.
  • All other children will be required to meet their class teachers in their classrooms at 6pm. Their teachers will bring them out to the pitch at 6.15pm. Children who do not meet their class at that time may miss their performances with the year group.

Year 6 children will be dismissed from the pitch by their class teacher and EA at approximately 7.30pm, when the event finishes.

For safeguarding reasons, children will not be allowed to leave until parents or guardians have made themselves known to the class teacher.

Kind regards,

The Music Team
