DBIS Book week – week beginning 19th April

Dear parents,

We are pleased to announce that DBIS Book Week starts on Monday 19th April.

This year Book week will focus around the beautiful book ‘Rain before Rainbows’. In this heartfelt story about courage, change, and moving on, a girl and her companion fox travel together away from a sorrowful past, through challenging and stormy times, toward color and light and life. Along the way they find friends to guide and support them, and when the new day dawns, it is full of promise and hope for the future. A copy can be found HERE if you wish to read it at home.

The poetic nature of the book inspired the DBIS English team to focus this year’s book week on poetry. Throughout the week the children will be exposed to a variety of poetry, have the opportunity to perform poetry and write their own poems as a class.

It wouldn’t be a DBIS Book Week without a dress up day! On Friday 23rd April we invite the children to dress as their favourite book character.

Thank you for your continued support. We are all very much looking forward to the week.

Kind regards,

Miss Griggs & The DBIS English Team
