DBIS Family Tech Agreement: Mid-Term Check-in

Dear Families,

Since introducing the Family Technology Agreement in August, we have appreciated the discussions it has created regarding balanced digital wellbeing.

The agreement outlines clear principles for technology use, including guidelines for smartphones, social media and gaming, while also providing research to support these recommendations. The most important thing to remember is that these principles serve as a starting point for engaging in open dialogue at home.

By encouraging both you and your children to sign the initiative, we hope to build a partnership based on trust and mutual responsibility. This shared commitment can help you have more meaningful conversations at home, especially when addressing peer pressure and the common argument that “everyone else does it.”

To make the core principles easier to refer to, we have included a new Family Technology Agreement poster here.

Kind regards,

Jessica Hickling – Head of Wellbeing
Nicolas Ng – Head of Learning Technology
