We are excited to introduce the DBIS Family Technology Agreement, a new initiative designed to help our community navigate the digital world with greater confidence and purpose. This comprehensive agreement was crafted through a collaborative effort, incorporating valuable feedback from our parent community, the insights of our students, and current, research-based best practices in child development and digital well-being.
This isn’t just a set of rules; it’s a shared commitment to fostering a balanced approach to technology that supports your child’s learning, mental well-being, and safety. The agreement outlines clear principles for technology use, including guidelines for smartphones, social media, and gaming, while also providing research to support these recommendations.
By encouraging both you and your children to sign the contract, we hope to build a partnership based on trust and mutual responsibility. This shared commitment can help you have more meaningful conversations at home, especially when addressing peer pressure and the common “everyone else does it” argument.
We look forward to partnering with you to create a safer and more balanced digital future for the entire DBIS community.
Kind regards,
