Dear Secondary Students,
The DBIS library is pleased to provide details of its Summer Lending Programme. We have two lending options available for you.
Option 1. Visit the Library
- Secondary students may visit the library to borrow up to 10 books for the Summer. Please bring a suitable carry bag.
- Students may begin borrowing from Monday 19th June until the end of the school year, though there will be some restricted access in the final week of term due to stocktaking.
- Students are required to have a parent complete THIS FORM and bring it with them before borrowing can take place.
Option 2. borrow eBooks and online audiobooks through Overdrive
- DBIS is a part of the Hong Kong Schools Overdrive consortium, which offers approximately 3,000 online titles for Y3–Y13.
- There are three ways you can access Overdrive: via the library catalogue; via the Sora app website; and via the Sora app, which can be downloaded to devices such as smartphones and iPads.
- Students, click HERE to find instructions on how to access and read or listen online.
Please note:
- The Summer Lending Programme is only available to students confirmed to be returning to DBIS for the 2023–24 school year and who do not have any outstanding loans.
- Not sure which books to borrow? Click on QUICK LISTS (found in the menu bar on the library website) to find book lists… by year group, award winners, HK Golden Dragon Book shortlists, Sustainable Development Goals and more!
- All items borrowed under the Summer Lending Programme need to be returned to the Main campus library no later than Friday 18th August.
- Parents/guardians accept that if any book is damaged, lost or cannot be returned for any reason, they are eligible for the replacement cost plus a HK$30 administrative fee per book.
Feel free to contact the library should you have any questions.
