Dear DBIS Primary Families,
On Thursday 18th September, Bryony Wilson (Head of English – Primary) will be hosting a Primary English Parent Workshop in The Globe from 8.30am – 9.30am.
Aimed at families from Year 1 – Year 6, this workshop will provide an overview of how reading is approached at DBIS. The session will focus on how we utilise engaging and inspiring books to drive our curriculum, as well as strategies we use for teaching, encouraging, and developing a lifelong love of reading.
We will also explore practical ways to support your child’s reading at home, as well as share recommended texts for different age groups.
This workshop is aimed at families who are new to DBIS, or are interested in knowing our approach to reading in more detail. For any parents who have attended previous sessions, please note that some of the information covered will be similar.
