EY1 & 2 GoogleMeet Sessions

Dear Parents

We have really enjoyed launching our live learning GoogleMeet sessions for our children in EY1 and 2. We can see how much the children are thriving from the live interactions with each other and the support they are receiving from their class teachers.

With this in mind, I would like to take this opportunity to ask you to help us support the children in their online learning journey by reminding them of the expectations we have for GoogleMeets. As the children are getting used to the sessions, we have found that a small number of children are not following these expectations which can negatively impact upon the experience for other children.

We kindly remind you that given the age of our EY1 & 2 children, it is expected that an adult is present to supervise children whilst participating in the GoogleMeet, their microphones are switched off (unless their teacher has invited them to contribute) and they do not to tamper with the settings for other children or their class teacher. In addition, the link to the DBIS video conferencing agreement can be found here.  If individuals are not following the expected guidelines, they will be asked to leave the GoogleMeet for that day and class teachers will follow up with parents. We want to ensure the GoogleMeet sessions are a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all our children and really appreciate your support in helping us to support your children’s learning online.

Please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or a member of the Early Years Leadership Team if you have any questions regarding their online learning. For queries regarding technical support please contact [email protected].

Kind regards
Hannah Cole
