EY1 Junk Modelling Materials

EY1 Junk Modelling

Dear Parents and Carers,

Next week the EY1 children will be beginning Play Projects.  Play Projects are an exciting approach to the curriculum created by Greg Bottrill, author of “Can I Go And Play Now” which allows each child to lead their own learning by creating their own play project. Our teaching team in the Early Years have been lucky enough to participate in specific professional development and training opportunities with Greg regarding the facilitation of play projects and are very excited to share this with your children.

The adults working alongside your child will be supporting their learning and development through play and bringing the curriculum to the children through their interests and explorations. For further information on Play Projects please click on the link here.

As a part of this project the EY1 children require junk modelling materials. We are looking for cardboard (and cuttable) household resources such as; boxes, tubes, egg boxes, shoe boxes, kitchen roll tubes and cereal boxes.

If you have any of these items at home, please drop them off at your child’s classroom throughout the course of the year.

Kind regards,

The EY1 Team
