EY1 Seesaw Update

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for your continued support with our EY1 home learning. We thoroughly enjoy seeing, hearing and reading your child’s work and the progress they are making via Seesaw.

Next week we will be setting independent home learning (we’d like your child to attempt the activity by themselves). The purpose of the independent learning task is for class teachers to assess how your child is progressing with the recent home learning activities that have been set.

Each day (Monday to Thursday) class teachers will set 2 activities via the class Seesaw journal. The first activity we’d like the children to attempt on their own and the second activity is optional. The activities will continue to have a written and an oral explanation as it has been in previous weeks.

A brief overview of the assessment tasks are below which we ask that they complete by themselves;

Monday – Journal Entry (we’d like children to write for 20 minutes if they are able to write for longer than please allow them to)

Tuesday – Reading aloud activity and comprehension questions (this reading activity will be differentiated according to your child’s reading ability)

Wednesday – Maths (Addition and Subtraction and Data)

Thursday – Maths (Measurement and Time)

As the parent teacher conferences will not go ahead this term, we would like you to encourage you to continue to actively use the communication tools on Seesaw, when needed.

Kind regards,

The EY1 Team
