Dear EY2 Families,
Next week, we will be introducing two additional small-group reading sessions a week led by our Educational Assistants. These lessons will be held during the RWI time slots on our weekly timetables. The times and groups for these sessions will be communicated on our class daily slides on Seesaw this Friday 11th February.
The purpose of these sessions is to help develop the children’s comprehension skills. Your child will be given a text in their resource pack which they will discuss in their online sessions. Your child may find the texts fairly challenging to read at first. This has been purposefully planned to allow deeper level comprehension to be taught. If possible, we encourage the children to practise reading the text before their lesson, to help them gain greater fluency and understanding in their online sessions.
During their small-group session on Fridays, the children will have the opportunity to complete their Spelling Quiz online with their class EA.
These lessons will start on Monday for The Kakapos and White Rhinos and will begin on Tuesday for the Pangolins and Tigers.
