EYFS Student Council

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Student Council members play an important role in our school community by representing their peers, voicing ideas and planning actions that help make our school a better place for everyone.

We are now beginning the process of selecting new EYFS Student Council representatives for this academic year.

How Students Will Learn About the Process

  • FS-1 Students: Class teachers will share the details and encourage discussion about the role in class.
  • FS-2 Students: Information will be shared during their weekly assembly.

The Application Process for EYFS

The opportunity to join the EYFS Student Council is open to all students. For this age group, we aim to make the process supportive and focused on communication and aspiration rather than formal speeches. Instead, children are encouraged to be Confident Communicators and have a thoughtful discussion with their class teacher about why they would like to be a part of the Student Council and any ideas they have for the school. After reflecting on these discussions, class teachers will select one member of the class to represent them.

We will announce our EYFS Student Council representatives before the half-term break.

You can find general information about all our Student Leadership opportunities here.

If you have any questions about this process, please do not hesitate to contact your child’s class teacher or me directly at [email protected].

Best wishes,

Mrs Brislen Patel
