Dear Families,
On Friday 19th January, our FS-1 teachers will be leading a reading workshop for families (aunties are also encouraged to attend these if at all possible). The workshop will begin at 9.10am and will be finished by 9.55am.
During the workshop, we will share the approach we have taken with our students so far on their pre-phonics journey (sound discrimination and print in the environment). The team will also discuss how we can support our younger learners as they begin to take home their reading books (Week 3 – week beginning 22nd January).
This term, our FS-1 children will also begin to start phonics sessions in school – at a pace and style that is appropriate for them. During the workshop, we will share further information about how your child will explore phonics in school and how you can support them at home.
