Google Third Party Apps

Google is making a significant change soon to ensure the safety and privacy of all students globally. This change will affect how students use Google to log into websites, apps, etc.

Third-party apps (those not made by Google) will automatically be blocked from student accounts under 18 unless the school approves the app. The Learning Technologies team has been busy vetting all the current apps over the past few weeks to ensure a seamless transition so that there is no loss of service for those used for educational purposes.

If students come across a new app, etc. and wish to log in with their school Google account, they may be unable to until a team member has vetted it. The team will decide whether to allow or deny it based on its appropriateness in an educational setting. All educational apps will generally be permitted, whilst those used for social media/gaming purposes may be blocked.

We thank you for your support whilst we see through this transition phase.
From the Learning Technologies team.
